A dog went for the ride of his life one afternoon. The Labrador-Golden Retriever climbed into a truck and took it for a drive around town. Nobody would have noticed what he did, but he made a little booboo. He got into an accident, so he had no choice but to plead guilty when the cops arrived at the scene.
The Labrador driver
Residents of Mankato, Minnesota were surprised to see the truck running without a driver one afternoon. It was speeding up, and people started to worry that someone might get into an accident because of it. The truck, along with their worries, came to a halt when it crashed into a tree and another vehicle.
David Stegora was among those who witnessed what happened. He was out for a stroll when he saw the truck pass by. He heard a snap, so he turned around to see where the sound came from. Stegora noticed the crash between the two vehicles and the tree that came apart. He grabbed his camera and just as he was about to press the shutter, the Labrador-Golden Retriever’s head popped out of the driver’s window.
Solving the mystery
Mankato Police Commander Dan Schisel, along with his colleagues, responded when they were called to the scene. The cops confirmed that both vehicles had no drivers when the crash happened. The only one present in the scene was a wet-nosed Labrador-Golden Retriever who was sorry for what he did.
Nobody knows how the truck started moving. The cops are also unsure if the Labrador put the truck in gear by accident. The cops removed the truck from service so they can inspect it thoroughly. They also conducted investigations regarding the crash between the truck and the commercial vehicle. Watch the story here:
Rover rides red semi across the road! (Say that five times fast.) According to Dish Nation, police believe the dog put the idling truck into gear while his owner was in a store. Luckily no one was hurt!. What do you think? Is this a case of a smart dog, or a not-so-smart driver?
